Struggling to memorize SAT vocabulary?

500 wordsPictures and quizzesFree

Word lists are boring, and crammed words rarely stick. By College Board's own count, 13 to 15 of the 54 Reading and Writing questions on every digital SAT lean on vocabulary, roughly 140 points of your score, and four to six of them ask a word's meaning outright. Knowing more words also means understanding more of everything you read.

Mathnova teaches words the way your brain stores them. Each card pairs a drawing that acts out the meaning, a color that sets its mood, and a sentence that shows the word at work. Learning scientists call this dual coding, and it is why the meaning sticks. The 500-word deck below is free, and a Mathnova plan makes the same cards track which words you know and which you are still learning.
